Ladislav Zensor - Selected Projects

Džob - Movie (2025)
Film
Annotation: "Petr and Michal are almost twenty years older and live completely different lives than they did as students. One is settled, has a well-paid job in a corporate company, a wife and a child, while the other is a loner with unfulfilled artistic ambitions. However, they are still united by the same passion: graffiti."

Czechia Expo - 2025 Osaka
AV Installation
The installation reflects on the state of today’s society through a series of sharp, ironic, and sometimes absurd moments. The setting may resemble a chaotic video call – but what’s really on the line is our collective failure to respond, in a world shaped by climate collapse, politically induced paralysis, and carefully sustained consumer comfort. The Last Call doesn’t offer solutions. Through satire, ambiguity, and immersive sound and image, it invites reflection on the urgent questions of our time. What happens when those in power keep talking, but say nothing? And what if the last call we miss isn't the one on Zoom?

420 People - Y / Why
Dance theater
Václav Kuneš’s latest performance, Y / why, is the final piece of an imaginary triptych that explores the fundamental elements of existence. EVER was time, fleeting and eternal moments. WHERE was space, the journey to ourselves. Now, Y / why is meaning, a funny, cynical, but also broken reality. Together, they form a simple structure of connecting elements, with the basic principle being movement. As Kuneš puts it, “Movement makes sense when it is timed correctly in space.”

AV Show
Visitors experienced a breathtaking audiovisual show, which was created in collaboration with Lunchmeat Studio. The fitness club is part of the most architecturally significant Fragment project in Karlín, a neighborhood that is home to many successful Czech artists, which is why the vision to connect fitness with art was born. The show was preceded by several weeks of preparation and the result was a unique combination of movement, light show and story.

The Grief Of Misfits Cathedrals
AV Installation, 13 speakers spatial audio
Lunchmeat Studio’s linear, experimental project is based on precise 3D scans of places that exist in separation from the regular rhythms of urban life. Their raw yet fragile beauty thus becomes preserved despite the surrounding entropy. The resulting audiovisual installation poses questions related to themes such as the memory of place, the aesthetic value of decay, and the current transformations of the cultural landscape.

Ezra Šimek - Gender Dysphoria
Short film
Ezra Šimek focuses on the phenomenon of so-called gender euphoria and dysphoria, which is often experienced by trans and non-binary people. Gender dysphoria is a feeling of anxiety caused by the desire to have the physical characteristics of the sex with whom you identify, but which were not assigned to you at birth. Gender euphoria, on the other hand, is the feeling of joy that such a person can have when living their true gender identity.

Oblaka - Petrichor Memories
EP
"L.Z. (Ladislav Zensor): I grew up on the outskirts of Prague, surrounded by concrete tower blocks; we call them "paneláky." The deep '90s marked the liberation of the country and an awakening from communist lethargy. Enveloped by socialist art, which, in pre-revolutionary times, was allocated 4% of the budget for all construction projects.
My latest moniker, Oblaka, emotionally takes me back to the time I began exploring electronic music and shaping my taste. They say that cultural cycles come around every 20 years, and these days, I feel like I'm living in 2001 again. Thanks to the internet, globalization, and advanced technology, we’re witnessing a blending of genres, techniques, and approaches.
I enjoy this current musical merging, and after years of focusing on a specific sound, Oblaka gives me the freedom to experiment more with polyrhythms, deconstructing samples, and overall sound design. "Petrichor Memories" is a recollection of the smell of fresh rain falling on the parched concrete of an urban housing estate.

Oblaka - HACE
LP
In 2022 I debuted the Oblaka moniker to experiment with new musical directions and a more contemporary approach to my production. To shine some light on the Czech music scene, I invited three local features, with vocals from Anna Coranič and Arleta and a collaboration with producer Ancestral Vision. The record was released on the newly established LTE records, which I co-founded.

Exhausted Modern - Deform | Reform
LP
Milanese label Marguerite records first got in touch for me to contribute a track on the 'MRG10' compilation marking their tenth release. We later put together the mini-album ‘Deform / Reform’, which was released on cassette. With these recordings, I tapped into more ambient realms for the first time.

Exhausted Modern - Moral Discourse
EP
I came into contact with the Italian-German Veyl records through the compilation 'Previously Undisclosed Rituals', for which the co-owner of the label and musician Thomas Feriero (Maenad Veyl) approached me in 2018. A year later, we agreed on a full-fledged EP and from there 'Moral Discourse' was born. It was an honour for me to release on such an established label with both a strong artistic and visual direction.

Exhausted Modern - Year of the Rat
LP
This album mirrors the period it was created. Determined to drop it on vinyl at the height of the pandemic and a time when shops were closed and distributors were limited, I decided to release it myself on my own Endless Illusion imprint. It eventually sold out.

Label
Reissued forgotten Czechoslovak electronic music from the communist era. Two recordings were released as part of this project. The first came from synth-noise band Omnibus (active between 1980-1985) with their albums 'Rhythmus' and 'Israels'. The second was the essential Czech record 'Planeta Haj' from 1985 by synth-wave band Máma Bubo. The recordings were accompanied by a magazine with interviews with the artists.
